Dear Lori, The Ontario government is pushing forward with its plan to build two enormous new highways - the 413 and the Bradford Bypass - through what little green space is left in Southern Ontario, despite huge opposition from local communities. If built, the highways would destroy sections of the Greenbelt, grow Ontario’s carbon emissions during a climate crisis, cost billions of dollars, and ultimately make traffic worse. The provincial government needs to know that the people of Ontario do not want more unnecessary megahighways. This Saturday, November 13th, communities across the GTA will hold events to tell the government that we want Greenbelt, NOT Asphalt. Lori, will you stand with the people who are fighting to stop these two disastrous highways? |
