HIGHWAY 413 is NOT A DONE DEAL
The federal government is currently reviewing highway 413. This fall or winter, the Impact Assessment Agency will decide what level of assessment is necessary for the project: a partial one conducted by the Agency or a full review with a panel that will take multiple years to complete. Hwy 413 threatens waterways, Indigenous heritage, farmland, the Greenbelt, endangered species and our climate! Let Steven Guilbeault and your MP know that this project needs a full review.

yORK REgion's OFFICIAL PLAN IS actually ILLEGAL
Although municipalities can't legally assign development to the Greenbelt, York Region council has done just that by adding two properties in the Greenbelt and two properties in the Oak Ridges Moraine to their Official Plan. Now the ball is in the province's court. Will the Minister of Municipalities and Housing send them back to the drawing board or use provincial powers to remove Greenbelt protections? If you're concerned about this, you can call your MPP or send a personal email reminding them of their promise to protect the Greenbelt. TORONTO NEEDS TO STEP UP FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT
Municipal elections are coming up on October 24th. It isn’t time to vote yet, but it is time to start thinking about what makes good and bad environmental policy at the municipal level. When it comes to sprawl, transportation and many other issues, city councils have a big impact on Ontario’s environment. ONTARIO IS 'YOURS TO PROTECT' THIS SUMMER
