Demand Strong Greenbelt Protections!

In October 2023, the Ontario Government finally stepped back from its plans to gut the Greenbelt. Draft Legislation to return lands removed from the Greenbelt and increase their protections is currently being considered and is open to comments on the Environmental Registry of Ontario until November 30th.

This legislation is good, but it is far from perfect and will need several amendments to ensure that it is air-tight.

First and foremost, the legislation should be re-written so that the 10 year review of Greenbelt boundaries can only be used to grow the Greenbelt -- not remove land.

Use this tool to submit detailed comments to the Environmental Registry of Ontario and the standing committee reviewing the legislation!

Your letter will be sent to the ERO, Premier Ford, Minister Calandra and members of the Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy.
