Address school gate congestion and pollution, while supporting pupils' health and wellbeing with WOW - the walk to school challenge. Over 1,500 UK schools are already on board. Join the movement of active travel to school from January 2023.

WHAT IS WOW?
WOW is a pupil-led initiative where children record how they travel to school each day on the interactive WOW Travel Tracker. Pupils who walk/wheel, cycle or scoot to school at least once a week are rewarded with a montly, collectable WOW badge. WOW schools typically see walking rates increase by 23% with a 30% reduction in cars at the school gates.

THE WOW BADGES
Our WOW badges are designed by the pupils themselves during our annual WOW Badge Design Competition. All bages are made from recycled plastic material, including old fridge trays, plastic plates and even yoghurt pot off-cuts that were otherwise destined for landfill. They are produced locally in Cornwall, reducing our carbon footprint. The badges are delivered to schools in environmentally-friendly, biodegradable packaging. 

A generation ago, 70 per cent of primary school aged children walked to school, now it’s around half. As the charity behind the UK's largest walk to school campaign, it is our mission to reverse this decline.

If your school is not already a part of this incredible movement of children walking to school, join us from January. This academic year is packed with exciting new developments as well as a fantastic theme – Walk Through Time. The theme will explore millions of years of history on earth, opening up the opportunity for important conversations in the classroom.

GET WOW FOR your school
