UBC Gateway ClinicWith funding from the BC Ministry of Health, the School of Nursing is the home to the Gateway Team-Based Care Teaching Clinic at the Gateway Health Building. This is an innovative clinical environment where students, clinician educators and researchers work together to model team-based primary care. UBC Nursing's Dr. Julie Tipping is the Gateway Clinic’s program director.

McCreary Youth Health Award Congratulations to Dr. Emily Jenkins, a UBC Nursing Professor, Associate Director of Research, and Canada Research Chair, on being selected by the McCreary Centre Society for the 2025 Youth Health Award. Dr. Jenkins' research prioritizes the voices of youth, particularly those experiencing social and structural vulnerabilities, and uses a strengths-based approach.

In Memoriam: Madeleine Kétéskwēw Dion StoutThe School of Nursing is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Madeleine Kétéskwēw Dion Stout on December 30, 2025. Madeleine Kétéskwēw Dion Stout was a nurse, Cree speaker, and preeminent scholar. She was a member of the Kehewin Cree Nation in Alberta, and was a former student of the Blue Quills Residential School near St. Paul, Alberta. In Memoriam: Glennis ZilmThe School of Nursing is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Glennis Zilm on January 16, 2026. A proud alumna of the UBC Nursing Class of 1958, Ms. Zilm’s stellar service and leadership were recognized through several awards at UBC and beyond. With her classmates, Ms. Zilm was instrumental in establishing the Nursing Class of 1958 Emergency Award to support undergraduate nursing students in emergency situations.
