Rescued monkeys return to the wildNot long ago, Jono and 30 other macaques lived in chains after being taken from the wild and forced to perform as “dancing monkeys” on the streets of Indonesia. When they were rescued, many were frightened, injured and traumatized. But because of compassionate supporters like you, friend, they were given a second chance. With the help of our partner Jakarta Animal Aid Network, the monkeys slowly began to heal. They received medical care, formed family groups and learned how to climb, play and trust again. Now, Jono and several of the rescued monkeys have finally reached their new forest home- where they can explore the trees and begin living as wild monkeys once again.
