Dear friend, We need you on Tuesday, 27th October. Protest with Survival in support of the Shompen: tell the London Science Museum to drop Adani as a sponsor. ⏰ WHEN: 1 pm, Tuesday, 27th October 📍WHERE: London Science Museum, SW7 2DD, main entrance Adani is a powerful Indian conglomerate that wants to develop a mega-port on Great Nicobar Island in the Indian Ocean. The port is an integral part of the Indian government’s project that could wipe out the uncontacted Indigenous Shompen people who call the island their home. The transformation of Great Nicobar Island – billed as “the Hong Kong of India” – will completely destroy their island home’s ecosystem by tearing down millions of rainforest trees and trashing their sacred river system. The mega-project will include a huge port, a military base, an industrial park, shopping malls, theme parks, a casino, and a city the size of Las Vegas. Friend, we can’t let this happen. This is why we’re asking our movement to stand in support of the Shompen and protest Adani at the London Science Museum. Adani has sponsored the museum to the tune of £4 million, helping to greenwash their reputation. If you can, please ask your friends to join Survival, and help pile the pressure on Adani to stay away from Great Nicobar. No mega-project is worth the annihilation of an entire people.
