Dear Ann
I want to share an inspiring lockdown story with you.
Diane, a CPRE supporter, has like many of us appreciated and relied on our countryside and green spaces close to home more than ever this past year.
Whether it’s a lockdown circuit around our local park or a marathon hike in the fells, being able to step outside into natural places is so important for our wellbeing; it nourishes, refreshes and regenerates us.
Here’s Diane’s story.
‘I've had a difficult year as I'm caring for my mum on a daily basis. But the moment I walk into our local woods I feel revived, it’s like I'm breathing in fresh life from these strong living structures.
'I started a walking group with some colleagues a few years ago and it's got us through tough times.'

‘We've laughed a lot, become closer, got lost and found ourselves again, got soaked and become a lot fitter. The last twelve months has encouraged me to walk on a daily basis with my dog, Millie.
'I've discovered so many new places locally and have even created a local calendar.
‘Locally, I love to walk in the National Trust's Dudmaston estate, Shropshire and Comer Woods. I also adore the Lake District.’
We’ve all loved hearing stories from CPRE friends and supporters over the last year about how nature has been boosting their spirits.
We’d love to hear about yours. Just reply to this email with the green space that’s been helping you this year, or hit the button below.
All the best,
Calum
