Walk Coordinator 2025: April Newsletter!

WOAH! Walk Day is only a month away and we are so excited to celebrate your hard work that you have been putting in for countless months. It will all come together, and we all know that the fundraising is about to pour in over the next few weeks.

APRIL TRAINING SESSION

Thank you so much to those who were able to attend our April training session, which was our last Community Walk Coordinator training session of the year. Thank you to those who came with lots of questions and shared their experiences along the way.

WALK DAY VOLUNTEERS

Please have ALL day of volunteers complete the volunteer application form prior to Walk Day. This includes their emergency contact information and has them agree to all of the policies to volunteer on site. You will be informed of volunteers who complete the survey and their answers.

The Day of Volunteer tools for recruiting, planning and organizing your volunteers for event day have all been added to the Walk Coordinator Resources page.

Multiple resources including social posts, training and schedule templates have been added.

WALK LOGISTICS EMAIL - TEMPLATE

Sending a day of logistics email before Walk Day is incredibly important for your participants to know all the details ahead of time and can ask any questions.

You will need to:

Pull a registration report of your registered participants around May 19

Edit the logistics email template to include all the specific information to your Walk.

Send email to all registered participants on May 19

You will want to make sure you send to any last-minute registrants who register in the days right before Walk Day.

CONTEST DEADLINES

Our Rose Baseball Hat deadline is quickly approaching on May 4!

To receive a Rose Baseball Hat on Walk Day, participants must have:

Opt-in to Contests (either during registration or contacted CF Canada to opt-in following registration)

Raised $100 on their personal fundraising page online by May 4

Registration reports will be provided to you by CF Canada team – extremely important to use these reports as we will send you who has qualified to receive a hat by the May 4th date.

Encourage your opt-in participants to meet the deadline so you can have as many hats as possible being worn for Walk Day!

MATCH WEEK

Match Week begins next Thursday, May 1! From May 1 – 7 all donations up to $100,000 will be matched by our anonymous donor. Encourage your participants to fundraise and make their asks during Match Week to have double the impact. SAVE THE DATES

Walk Coordinator meeting sessions have completed for the year – please check out the recordings!

The Finance/Registration Training Session(s) will be taking place Tuesday May 13 at 1:00 PM ET and Thursday May 15 at 7:30 PM ET. Please share the meeting invites with those who will be running your registration table and collecting donations on Walk Day.

The Finance/Registration sessions contain the exact same information but are being held at two different times to ensure that everyone can attend. Please ensure that someone from your location is attending to learn the proper information for Walk Day!
